Quality Technician Apprentice
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - GENERAL:
- Performs process audits to assure conformance to documented criteria.
- Preparation and maintenance of PPAP packages.
- Performs receiving inspection for steel, purchased parts, and outside processing.
- Informs Quality Manager/Assistant Quality Manager/Quality Engineer of any unsafe working conditions.
- Initiates action to prevent the occurrence on any nonconformity relating to product, process, and quality systems.
- Verifies production control for corrective action and documentation, per applicable work instructions.
- Performs outgoing inspection, including visual check, label and standard pack, gage as required, and document all results, as well as, complete and publish a management dock audit schedule.
- Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - SPECIFIC: SPC
- Teaches SPC to new employees including testing and issuing certificates.
- Conducts special reports as well as regular monthly and/or quarterly reports for affected or selected products. Reports include but are not limited to:
CP/CPK or PP/PPK analysis and management reviews
Pictorials and/or Summaries
Customer reporting
Weld capability analysis - 1st run and overall capability.
Pareto charting or defects and trends
TCO actions and follow up.
Gage R & R studies - conduct, calculate, track, and coordinate corrective actions (per MSA) - Sets up, loads, maintains, and trains the use of SPC computer software.
- Leads problem solving efforts using statistical (problem solving techniques).
- Reviews SPC charts for compliance to control plans, statistical control, and inspection reduction cost savings analysis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - SPECIFIC: DOCUMENT & PROCESS CONTROL
- Process weekly and monthly reports.
- Update and maintain Progressive Stamping's documented quality and environmental management systems.
- Issues, revises and updates-controlled documents (i.e. work instructions, forms, job descriptions, prints, Quality Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Midway Standards.)
- Assists the Quality/Environmental Management Representative in performing any applicable function related to the quality or environmental management systems.
- Coordinates new, annual and engineering change PPAP's.
- Maintains Engineering Change System.
- Takes minutes and notes at various plant meetings.
- Creates spreadsheets, graphs, etc., to represent data.
- Prepares MOS documentation.
- Processes PPM results.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - SPECIFIC: CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN
- Performs gage and check fixture calibration and maintenance.
- Maintains calibration documentation and records.
- Performs part, gage and check fixture capability studies.
- Performs process audits to assure conformance to documented criteria.
- Preparation of PPAP packages.
- Teats all other team members with respect and dignity.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.
